Best Civilization for New Players (Early Game)

1. China

China

China is the best civilization for the early game. The combination of (+5% building speed) and (+5% action point recovery speed) may seem small, but these buffs contribute to significant progression in the long run. Plus, Sun Tzu is one of the best epic commanders in the game.

2. Britain

Britain

While Britain ranks second, it is still an excellent civilization to start with. Boudica, a peacekeeping commander, helps new players with her powerful skill set, and the additional (+5% training speed) aids in faster troop development. Some might argue Germany is the better pick, but the early game really comes down to their epic commanders. Britain is only recommended for those who plan to hunt barbarians a lot.

3. Germany

Germany

Germany is quite a strong civilization for the early game in Rise of Kingdom. The (+5% troop training speed) allows faster army growth, which is vital for gathering resources and defense. Additionally, the (+10% action point recovery) accelerates barbarian hunting and event participation, helping you level up quickly.

Best Civilization for Mid Game (Season 1+ or City hall lvl 21+)

1. Germany

Germany

In the mid-game, Germany becomes a strong choice, especially if you focus on cavalry units and have unlocked Tier 4 troops. Germany’s (+5% troop training speed) and (+10% action point recovery speed) greatly enhance your ability to train and recover troops quickly.

2. China

China

China remains a solid option in the mid-game, as their buffs continue to be relevant. Infantry and archer players are encouraged to stick with China until they unlock Tier 4 units.

3. Korea

Korea

Korea shines in the mid-game, especially for researchong. The (+3% research speed) helps speed up technology upgrades, while their (+15% hospital capacity) is great for keeping your troop from dying due to heavy losses from battles.

4. Britain

Britain

Britain’s (+5% troop training speed) remains beneficial in the mid-game, allowing faster troop production. However, the (+20% ally garrison capacity) is generally not very useful at this stage unless you're heavily involved in defending allied cities.

5. Spain

Spain

In the mid-game, Spain’s (+10% experience bonus) becomes a valuable buff (althougt should not be the main reason from choosing this civilization). As leveling commanders uses your experience tomes intensively, this bonus helps maximize experience gain from battles agaisnt neutral units and events, which is eamazing for leveling up your commanders.

If You Are in Season of Conquest (Season 4+ or City Hall 25 & t5 soon)

1. Germany

Germany

Unsuprisingly, Germany is still the best and are also the most commonly used civilizations for Cavalry mains. You get (+5% cavalry attack), (+5% training speed), and (+10% action point recovery speed), which is undeniably hard to pass by. Althought it is recommended that you use this civilization if you mainly use cavalry.

2. France

France

France works well for infantry and engineering players, with (+3% troop health) and (+20% healing speed). These are crucial in Rise of Kingdoms battles. The additional (+10% wood gathering speed) is great but it isn’t game-changing.

3. Ottoman Empire

Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire is a pure combat civilization in Rise of Kingdoms. With (+5% skill damage) and (+5% march speed) applying to all troop types, it’s extemely versatile. However, the (+5% archer health) is only for the Archers, and thier special unit the "Jannisaries" makes the civilization more suited for archer mains.

If You Are a Free-to-Play (F2P) Player

1. Germany

Germany

As stated before, Germany’s (+10% action point recovery speed) and (+5% training speed) are crucial for F2P players. Action points are a critical resource for hunting barbarians and defeating barbarian forts, so this civilization helps maximize barb hunts and event participations, with stuffs like armaments, you action point usage drastically increase.

2. France

France

France is excellent for F2P players in combat. The (+20% healing speed) reduces the time needed to heal your troops, which is vital for sustaining long wars in KvK. On top of that, the (+3% troop health) applies to all troop types, making it a strong F2P combat civilization option.

2. Arabia

Arabia comes second with (+5% rally damage), making it ideal for cavalry rally leaders.

3. Byzantium

Byzantium offers (+5% cavalry health), making your cavalry tougher and more durable in battles, with a bonus of (+15% Hospitsl Capacity)which is amazing.

If You Are Using Infantry

WARNING: If you’re new, do not pick France, Greece, or Vikings as your first civilization. Instead, start with China for Sun Tzu and switch to your preferred nation after reaching Tier 4.

1. France

France offers (+3% troop health) and (+20% healing speed), which benefits infantry-focused players in long wars.

2. Greece

Greece provides decent buffs for infantry players, though it’s less popular than France or the Vikings.

3. Vikings

The Vikings are a strong choice for infantry players, especially for those who want to focus on offense.

Rome

Unfortunately, rome was outshined by others, the 5% infantry defense is commonly found in infantry equipment, furthermore, the marchspeed, suprisingly, Infantry commanders has an abundance of it at the season of conquest

If You Are Using Archers

WARNING: If you’re new, do not pick Ottoman Empire or Egypt. Instead, choose China or Britain for better early-game growth. Archers’ epic commanders are relatively weak, so focus on infantry or cavalry until you reach mid-game and can invest in archer commanders.

1. Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire is an archer-focused civilization with buffs that also apply to other troops: (+5% skill damage) and (+5% march speed). However, the archer-specific buff (+5% archer health) and Janissaries make it best for players who want to focus on archers.

2. Egypt

Egypt offers (+5% archer attack) and additional PvP buffs like (+5% rally damage), ideal for archer-heavy PvP combat.

3. Britain

Britain provides (+5% archer attack) and boosts early-game troop training, making it great civilization stepping stone for archer mains.

4. Korea

Korea offers (+5% archer defense), making archers more resilient in battles, They also have (+15% Hospitsl Capacity) which can help store wounded units.

If You Are Using Siege

WARNING: If you’re new, do not pick France as your first civilization. Start with China and switch to France later. Also, focusing on siege units in the early game is not recommended. Siege units are powerful, but they have limited option in the early & mid game and they don’t provide enough field support to justify prioritizing them early on.

1. France

France is your best and arguably only choice. Only france has the buffs that are relevant for siege. Hopefully Rise of Kingdoms will add Siege Civilizations as it was the troop specialized civilization we're lacking of
